Dialogues – From screen to stage

What happens if a film dialogue and movie techniques inspire a whole show of improvised theatre? 

Starting from an initial scene using a recorded movie dialogue, in “Dialogues” a chain of interconnected stories unfolds live on stage, shaped in the moment through improvisation and audience input.

The show was developed by Juš Milčinski (IGLU Theatre, Slovenia) and Laura Doorneweerd-Perry (Flock Theatre, The Netherlands) in an EU-funded project, bringing together different improvisational backgrounds and exploring how elements of cinema can be translated into unscripted theatre.

The Question

An improvised musical

In the bottom of every person's belly, there is a question. Or maybe two. They sit there, unanswered, unspoken even. In The Question, Pippa Evans invites the audience to give voice to questions that have been sitting with them and explores them with improvised music, scene and song. Previous questions include 'Why do other people's chips taste better?' and 'Should we have a third child?'.
